Making sense by making things.
Through experimental processes that integrate sound, materiality, improvisation, and embodied experience, his work investigates how emotion, intuition, and sensitivity can become legitimate tools for form-making. His professional experience ranges from design research and speculative design to audiovisual creation and documentation, workshop-based making, and additive manufacturing. His approach questions pre-established processes and overly rigid or rational methodologies, proposing ways of designing that are more honest, sensitive, and open to the unexpected.
Marcelo holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from Universidad Iberoamericana (Mexico) and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Contemporary Design at Aalto University (Finland). His work has been exhibited internationally in cities including Stockholm, Milan, Paris, Helsinki, Tallinn, and Mexico City, participating in exhibitions and platforms focused on experimental, collectible, and interdisciplinary contemporary design practices.
